Building an Executive Dashboard with the Business Scorecards Accelerator
How
does your organization measure against
strategic goals? How are you taking advantage of the increasing
amount of
corporate data to expedite business decisions? Most executives
don't have good answers to these questions. Information is
often isolated in disparate sources and reporting to
the executive office is is often inconsistent and
non-uniform. Business scorecards were developed so the first
question (performance measurement) can be effectively answered by organizing analytics
around the second (corporate data). Recently, Microsoft introduced a Business
Scorecards Accelerator to allow its customers to take advantage of end-to-end business
intelligence reporting. This article will discuss the Business Scorecards Accelerator
and its organizational benefits.

An Introduction to Microsoft's Information
Bridge Framework
One of the key
benefits of Office System is the tighter integration between the
Office products and XML. This has enabled Smart Documents technology, document-based solutions that give
users access to
external data within the context of their Office application.
Microsoft is looking to extend the "vision" of bridging line-of-business applications with back-end systems through the Information Bridge Framework. The Information Bridge Framework (IBF) is a
collection of tools and guidelines for leveraging web services and bringing corporate data directly to desktop-based emails, spreadsheets, and documents. This article will discuss the technology associated with the Information Bridge Framework and highlight some key business benefits.
